The clade of dinosaurs that had the derived trait of chewing were called Genosaurs.

The name means "Cheek Lizards".
- Genosaurs include almost all the most recognizable herbivores except for the long-necked sauropods.
- Armored thyreophorans
- Duck-billed ornithopods
- Horned marginocephalians
