Nicolae Milescu-Sp[tarul (1636-1708). High official, scholar, diplomat. As the emissary of the Russian Tsar travelled to China, wrote the work “Description of China” that brought him European renown.
Fortress Chilia (XIV-XV c.). Initially belonged to Muntenia, since 1412 belonged to Moldova. A locality with access to the see, through which the external trade was carried out. Nowadays makes part of Ukraine.

Fortress Orhei (XV c.). One of Moldova´s oldest towns. Initially was fortified with two rows of walls and ditches, later with stone walls. In 1499 the fortress Orhei was destroyed.

Fortress Suceava (1388). The throne-fortress erected by Petru I Muşat (1375-1391). Nowadays is part of Romania.

Fortress Ismail (XIV c.). Founded by the Turks, situated on a plateau on the left shore of the Danube. Nowadays is part of Ukraine.
