Keeping secrets from the enemy is really important because if the enemy knows your plans, he can act to stop you. On the other hand, finding out the enemy secrets can make the difference between winning or losing a battle, or even the whole war. There are lots of ways of finding out secrets, like spying. But in World War II it was code breaking that uncovered the most secrets.

In this chapter we'll be looking at the codes that were used in World War II and how they were broken.
