The common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is a species of kingfisher. They have blue backs and orange chests, along with a few white feathers and a blue cap on the head.
Names[edit | edit source]
They are called the common kingfisher, Eurasian kingfisher and the river kingfisher. As well as using the Latin name Alcedo atthis, some use Gracula atthi.
Where to see them[edit | edit source]
One has a chance of seeing them near freshwater bodies with fish.
