The Mixtecs were a mysterious civilization that took place in the 1200s BC. They later called themselves the Aztecs.
What country do they live in?[edit | edit source]
The Mixtecs probably settled in Mexico as early as 2000 BC and split into two tribes (Aztecs and Mayans) around 999 BC.
What did their buildings look like?[edit | edit source]
The Mixtecs probably had sacrifice temples but not much is known about them so we don't know yet.
What did they believe?[edit | edit source]
The Mixtecs did believe in a god, Huitzilopochtli, and he was the patron god of the Mixtecs. They probably had more gods that are yet to be discovered.
