Addition[edit | edit source]

Addition is thought to be the easiest function the abacus can calculate. To add, the user must display the original number and add the desired number of beads to the original number.

Example: (6+5)

6=6
0000-|-0  (0)
000-0|0-  (6)

6+5=11
000-0|-0  (1)
000-0|-0  (1)
