When "Terminal" is clicked a command line terminal opens, using BASH. The prompt takes the form of fred@desktop where fred is the name of the user entered when setting up Gnome on first use and desktop is the name of the computer. Linux commands may be entered directly at the terminal.

Profiles[edit | edit source]

Gnome terminal supports profiles, which allows you to use different colour schemes, change fonts, terminal name, turn on effects and do many other things.
