To play the note E press down all the keys for a F plus the middle finger on the right hand.

Quavers and Quaver Rests[edit | edit source]

A quaver (American: eighth note) is half the duration of a crotchet. Two quavers next to each other will take up a crotchet beat.

A single quaver looks like this:



When quavers are written next to each other, they are usually beamed together in pairs or groups of four like so:
