A Guide to Lapbooking[edit | edit source]

Introduction[edit | edit source]

For Homeschoolers and Other Educators

Lapbooking in its most basic form is an educational tool where the student makes small foldables, miniature books, or other small paper activities and places them in a specially folded file folder to accompany a unit study. The paper miniatures are often referred to as minits. Lapbooking, however does not need to be limited to file folders as you will see in the coming chapters. The how-to pages are heavily illustrated with photos making the instructions easy to follow. A young child from about pre-school age to around seven years-old will need adult help in completing the minits. An older child, from about age 8 up, will likely be able to complete minits on his/her own.
