About Me
[edit | edit source]I am a transfer student to ODU. This summer, I finally completed by Associate of Science degree at TCC. My major is Theatre Education. I have been involved in theatre since I was 10 years old, and I can't think of anything I like to do more. I grew up as a Navy brat, and have lived in places like Guam and Belgium. I have two dogs, a Labrador Retriever and a Walker Hound. They are my babies, and I love them to death!
Teaching Philosophy
[edit | edit source]I feel like being a teacher is more than just lecturing information to students so they can pass a standardized test. I want to get kids excited about learning. Since my focus will be in the arts, I want to show students that music, dance, art, and theatre are about more than entertainment. Knowing about and loving the arts will help them in all walks of life. I think it's important as an educator to be enthusiastic about your "craft". It's our job to show our kids how to get excited and be creative about learning.
