My interests are riding motorcycles, steam trains, software development and railway simulators. I'm a retiree, ex Navy, ex software engineer and numerous other jobs! My particular interest is in the Trainz railway simulator and confess I get more out of developing routes, sessions and assets than I do actually running them.

As a child in the UK, I used to ride a steam train to school. Part of that railway still exists as a tourist attraction. For a couple of years prior to emigrating to Australia I was an enthusiastic Ian Allen trainspotter and still retain books from that time.

My current ride is a BMW GT1300SE although I have been a Honda, Yamaha and Harley rider in the past. Of all my bikes I miss my Harley the most.

My software development skills have waned since my retirement but occasionally I feel the need to write something. My latest project is a Sudoku puzzle solver using the GPL GNAT (Ada) compiler and GTKADA toolsets.

My meagre contributions to WiKiBooks are likely to be "how to" guides so that I can return the help I have obtained from many others.
