The main intention of this document is to describe "the big picture" of computers and Internet to the people which main interest are languages and linguistics. However, document may be used as introduction to these fields for people with different interests, including beginners in computer science.

The first version of this document is based on Eric Raymond's The Unix and Internet Fundamentals HOWTO[1] However, something which would be possible to call "a stable version", will be much different then original document.

Unlike the original document, stable version of this document will not be written as an essay, but in the NPOV and scientific manner.

The first version of the document will assume basic knowledge of computer usage. Some future versions should include description of the matter for people who don't have any knowledge related to computers.
