My name is Lisa-Marie Marconi and I'm a sophomore at Old Dominion. My major is English Education in Secondary schools. My goal is to be a high school teacher and eventually make my way up to being a college professor. I am nineteen years old and I was born and raised in Middletown, New Jersey, which makes me an out-of-state student. I have a boyfriend who I have been dating for almost four years. In my spare time I like to write poems, get together with friends, play clarinet, and sometimes play the video game called Rock Band.
♥My Philosophy of Education♥
I believe that education is the foundation of knowledge and should be taken seriously. Without education a person may not feel inspired to learn. Most of the time school can really influence people because the lessons taught in classrooms allow a person to open up the mind and see things from a different perspective. I also believe that if anyone wants to be a teacher, they have to truly love it before getting into it. Students will be very inspired to continue learning if they have good teachers because believe it or not, teachers are always remembered later on. Most students remember their favorite or least favorite teachers, so it is important that a teacher puts everything into what they do so that they can get through to students and inspire them.
