Lesson Plan- Emotional Faces
Subject: Language Arts
Lesson Objective: Students will be able to express their feels through emotions. The other students will guess the correct emotion associated with the color represented.
Materials: assorted pieces of construction paper with different emotions written on them and colorful face masks
Opening to Lesson:
Begin with writing a list of several different colors on the board Ask students what color do they associate their emotions with Then have students write on construction paper strips the emotion/ color.
List of emotion Colors
Red- angry Green- calm Blue- gloomy Black- depressed Yellow- happy Purple- proud White-pure Gray- boring Pink- caring Orange- enthusiasm
Body of Lesson:
Have students take turns choosing emotion colored paper strips from the jar and imitate the emotion so other students can guess their color. Student who guess the most emotions correctly will earn a no homework pass to use for a future assignment.
Closing:
Ask students to talk about the activity? What challenges did you encounter with this lesson? Remind students that facial expression are important with interacting with people.
Assessment & Evaluation Then have students watch two YouTube videos that discuss different emotions. Then have students type a one page essay on which emotion they choose and why?
