About the Author

I received a BFA from VCU many years ago and have since enjoyed my current occupation as stay-at-home mother to our four children. I still live in my home town, surrouded by lots of family. My interests include drawing, making stained glass windows, reading, and cooking.

I am fascinated by the different ways children learn. I admire the many excellent teachers who have helped them and aspire to be a great educator. I love helping young children read and believe they need to be saturated with books, but not with homework. In my opinion, a child who is overscheduled and burden with too much work after school does not have enough time to play.

I am enrolled in the PreK-6 teacher licensure program at ODU and excited about learning more.
