About the Author
Judith (Judy) Leonard
I was born and raised in Virginia Beach. I am the oldest child in my family and hold my family very close to my heart. As a kid I was very studious and was always a very focused student. In high school I was constantly involved with school events and wanted the best for my future. In 2007 I graduated from high school and went to the University of Mary Washington. This past semester I decided my heart belonged at the beach and transferred to Old Dominion.
Some people have dreams to be astronauts and doctors, but not me. From the time I was a kindergartener learning my letters I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I have always thought education is one of the most important things a person could have. A teacher gets the opportunity every day to shape the brains of future leaders of the world. I want to have the satisfaction of knowing that I contributed to helping children grow.
As a teacher I hope that I will be someone my students can come to. I don’t ever want them to be afraid to ask questions or state opinions. I want my classroom to be routine and organized, that way my students can get the most out of their time at school. I want my students to learn to respect me and each other, to create a positive classroom environment.
