"Know it- share it"[edit | edit source]

The aim is to collect, store and share learning materials from maritime health meetings and conferences to be used for learning and research to support the IMHA motto : "Know it and share it". The first benefit is that those who cannot attend the meetings can follow the development and be updated. Further, those who want to study a specific subject may search and find older abstracts that were never published elsewhere and build new research based on these findings and hypotheses. And as we suppose that many conference abstracts are never used for further research, they can be very useful. It is also an advantage, the all can easily learn how to edit and add new materials in the Wiki system. So we expect that many professionals in maritime health will take ownership, use the information and contribute by adding new materials. In order to search the specific abstracts and ppts, a search and find functions should be established, however this is time consuming and so this is just a wish for now. To store the files in external harddisks as an extra security is a pending task. Training sessions on how to use these pages could be arranged on the ISMHs, IMHA workshops and seminars. So all in all we hope that these archives can contribute to the production of "more and better research". To edit the pages, please use your own or create a new account used for login in all Wikimedia projects. The procedures for storage of PPTs and 'abstracts from conferences are the following:

  • The organisers are requested to store the abstracts and power points on a laptop and later on their own conference webpage.
  • The authors are asked for permission to publish their abstracts and ppts in the conference homepages with link to IMHAR Archives.
  • The materials are stored in the IMHAR Google Drive with link to one of the sections below.
