- A long time computer user, who's worked in the industry for over 40 years, on the IT side and on the business side.
- Has a baccalaureate with honors for a dual major in Business and Information Management
- Has professional business certification in multiple states, although he no longer practices
- Has an MBA with Distinction with a concentration in Information Technology
- Published his first open source program in 1977 (but we didn't call it that then....)
- Has hobbies and interests outside Computers & Business, including
- Outdoors recreation:
- Scouting related
- Canoing and Kayaking
- Leave No Trace / Outdoor Ethics
- Environmentalism and Sustainability
- Photography & Videography, started with film, almost purely digital now
- Wood Carving and Sculpture
- Gardening
- Other related interests
