- atom - basic building block of all things in the known universe
- autopsy - A way of examining a system that is no longer working. Normally done on organiams like humans, but the same technique may be applied to machines. Academic autopsies are performed by students of anatomy for the purpose of study. The procedure gives students firsthand experience to view anatomy and pathology.
