SI units[edit | edit source]

The base unit of volume in the SI system is the cubic meter. There are 1000 liters per cubic meter, or 1 liter contains the same volume as a cube with sides of length 10cm. A cube with sides of length of 1 cm or 1 cm3 contains a volume of 1 milliliter. A liter contains the same volume as 1000 ml or 1000 cm3.
