One way to save time when washing dishes is to avoid drying the dishes manually. In many circumstances, leaving dishes to dry in the dish rack overnight won't cause any problems. Several hours later (e.g. overnight), the dishes should be mostly dry, and can be put away with minimal manual drying required.
