The process of gathering, storing, accessing, and analyzing data about a company is called business intelligence (BI). BI helps make a business make better decisions by helping identify its most rewarding costumers and offering them products at the right prices to increase sales. Business intelligence systems are often used with data stored in a data warehouse or data mart. There is also intelligent software that helps find patterns and relationships between data; this is called data mining. Walmart is an example of a business that uses data mining. They market specific merchandise in local stores according to the characteristics of people who live in that area.
