Splinter Cell is a series of third person stealth based video game. It is part of a web of games based on the wider Tom Clancy series. Other "Tom Clancy" game series include the Ghost Recon tactical shooters, the early Ryanverse games, H.A.W.X combat flight simulators, open world The Division action games, miscellaneous one offs, and the most well known, Rainbow Six.

The Splinter Cell series is overseen by the European game developer Ubisoft.
