In Spanish, all nouns are either masculine or feminine. Masculine nouns ultilize the singular article el, and the plural article los. Feminine articles utilize the singular article la and the plural article las.

Nouns ending in -o are usually masculine. Nouns ending in -a are usually feminine.

Nouns that end in -o, -ma, -pa, -ta, -l, -n, s, -aje, or an accented vowel are usually male.
