The crossflow turbine
[edit | edit source]The crossflow turbine was developed in 1903 by the Australian engineer A.G.M. Mitchell. From 1912 to 1919, Donat Banki in Hungary conducted a series of experiments on the crossflow turbine and developed a theory for its operation. The turbine was initially put into production by Ganz in Hungary.
The crossflow turbine is currently being used mainly in developing countries because of its simple design and manufacturing.
