Arbok possesses mimicry eyespots below its face. In real life eyespots are a phenomenon used by a variety of creatures for a variety of purposes, in this case to add intimidation to the creature.

Naming

Arbok spelled backwards is Kobra, fitting given the real life snake genus, the true cobra (Naja), shares some traits with Arbok.
