A common cold is an easily spread infectious disease of the upper breathing system. It mainly infects the nose and throat. The symptoms include cough, painful throat, running nose, and fever. These symptoms usually last 7-10 days, but sometimes up to 3 weeks. More than 200 different viruses can cause the common cold, but rhinoviruses are the most common cause.
