General Measurements

Height: Have the person being measured stand against a wall without shoes and measure from the top of their head to the floor.

Chest/Bust:Measure around the fullest part of the chest/Bust straight across the back.

Neck: Measure around the base of the neck.

Hip: Measure around the fullest part of the hip.

Waist: Loop the measuring tape around the body at the natural waistline (near the belly button) to take the waist measurement.

In-seam: Measure along the inner-leg from the ankle to the point between the groin and the buttock ±0.5" (adjustments for hemming will be made while drafting the pattern)

Out-seam: Measure along the outter leg from the ankle to the waist ±0.5" (adjustments for hemming will be made while drafting the pattern)

Back/waist: Take the back waist length by measuring from the most prominent bone located at the base of the neck down to the natural waistline.

Sleeve: Measure the sleeve by measuring from the base of the neck all the way down the outter arm to the wrist. Make sure your subject has their arm outstretched and slightly bent at the elbow when you take this measurement.
