A Producer oversees the creation of a film, from pre-production to completion. They are responsible for making sure that the film is completed on time and within its budget. In motion pictures produced by major studios, the Producer represents the studio's interests in the film, keeping the Director in line with the studio's expectations. The Producer may also staff key positions based on the script, helping bring the right Director and actors onto the project. In smaller projects the Producer may also carry out the duties of a Line Producer, handling day-to-day details like budgeting, scheduling, in-depth staffing of the project and securing distribution for the film.
