Where should we host our Movie Making Manual?

Reasons for keeping it on WikiBooks[edit | edit source]

  • It's free
  • It's neutral teritory
  • It helps keep knowledge in one place
  • We're likely to get more hits
  • It'll be a real pain to move the book elsewhere
  • People are already starting to learn about the book and might be put off if we move it now

Reasons for taking it elsewhere[edit | edit source]

  • WikiBooks is SLOW (although they have ordered 5 new servers which may speed things up)
  • We can't get access to the MySQL database (not a major problem)
  • There's no easy way to backup all our work (although I imagine that wikibooks do run regular backups)
