The traditional Meitei art of designing and constructing buildings, specifically in the realms of Kangleipak, is known as "Meitei architecture", or "Meetei architecture", "Manipuri architecture", "Kanglei architecture". Most of the buildings are semi-concrete or wooden in medium but heavily intricate in designs as well as in details.

Best known examples are standing in the forms of temples, gates and public houses, other than royal palaces and royal court buildings.
