Lessons[edit | edit source]

The lessons in this wikibook are intended to cover the basic needs of a future Macedonian speaker, and are divided into three levels of difficulty, with six lessons each. In each and every one of the lessons we meet John, the main character, who gets more and more familiar with Macedonian as time passes. Eventually, even though he doesn't get the job in Macedonia, he decides to visit the Balkan country, after having studied so much about it.


Beginner level[edit | edit source]

These six beginner lessons are meant for people who have had limited or no contact with the Macedonian language, and have almost or absolutely no knowledge of the language whatsoever.

Lesson 1[edit | edit source]

John starts learning Macedonian online after finding that he might be stationed there. (click for lesson 1)

Lesson 2[edit | edit source]

John goes to his first class in New Jersey, where he is taught by his new teacher Slavica. (click for lesson 2)

John learns basic phrases in Macedonian with his fellow co-students. (click for lesson 3)

John learns about the grammar features in Macedonians, more specifically noun gender, and adjectives. (click for lesson 4)

Intermediate level[edit | edit source]

These next six lessons are meant for people who have had some contact with the Macedonian language, and are familiar with a few basic phrases and grammar rules, and want to improve their knowledge.

These four lessons are meant for people who want to learn a few things about how people in the major cities of Macedonia speak, and be able to understand a few slang words used around the country.

Lesson 1[edit | edit source]

John visits the Ohrid Lake and is surprised by the locals, including Klime. (click for lesson 1)

Lesson 2[edit | edit source]

John continues his trip to Bitola where he meets Sarah and Pece, and after being surprised again, they head off to Prilep. (click for lesson 2)

Lesson 3[edit | edit source]

John and Sarah visit Prilep, and are relieved when they find out that things aren't so different from Bitola, and that they didn't go through all those lessons in standard Macedonian for nothing. (click for lesson 3)

Lesson 4[edit | edit source]

After an emergency back home, John needs to go back home, and even though there was an airport in Ohrid, they went all the way back to Skopje where the country's largest airport is situated, and John flew back to New York, via Vienna. (click for lesson 4)
