Mac OS X features a range of brilliant speech features. These go from setting the computer to read out error messages and alerts in a voice of your choice, to using a microphone and getting you Mac to do tasks through its built-in Speech Recognition.

All the settings for these for these features can be found in your Mac's System Preferences. This option can normally be found on the Dock when you first buy your Mac, but if not, it should be in your Applications folder. After System Preferences has loaded up, click Speech which comes under System.
