Grammar 1~5[edit | edit source]

  • Noun + Adj + Verb
    • 英語はほとんど忘れました
      • I have almost completed forgotten English.
  • Source/subject is suffixed with は then recipient of message/thing suffixed with に object most often followed with を finally the verb (any form e.g., present, past, future, past-participle, future-participle) 貸します.
    • 私は友達に車を貸しました
      • I lent my (the) car to a friend.
  • subject は followed by 'もう=mou' proceeding a past-form of a verb means already. This phonetic 'mou' is the same sound in a similar gramatical structure that, although easy to understand when read in a textbook, is difficult to apply for non-Native Speaker, making its use humorously-confusing.
    • 子供はもう寝ました。
      • The kid is already asleep (has already gone to sleep).
  • Noun + が + 好きです(嫌いです)
    • 台湾人は日本製の物が好きです
      • Taiwanese people like things that are produced in Japan.
  • Place + Object + が + ある(いる)
    • 部屋に犬がいます
      • There are dog in the house(いる for live object like animal, human.ある for non-live object like table)
