International Postage Meter Stamp Catalog/Mauritius
Mauritius[edit]
- The first meters appeared in 1953.
- All stamps have “MAURITIUS” in the frank.
- Instead of Meter Numbers the stamps show a locally assigned Identification Number.
- The stamps are grouped according to appearance and usage:
- A - Franks with simulated perforation outer border
- B - Franks with straight line outer border
- C - Digital stamps with 2D bar code
- PO – Franks generated only by machines in post offices
GROUP A: Franks with simulated perforation outer border[edit]
A1. Universal “MultiValue” (MV), 1953.
- “POSTAGE PAID” above value figures and “CENTS” below.
- Identification number with “U” prefix in bottom panel.
- Side panels with flower stalk design.

- This appears to be a temporary frank, possibly crafted from a rubber die to serve while a proper replacement die was being procurred.
- This stamp is found only with meter HA09 which is also found as Type B2A prior to 2007 and Type B2.1B after 2007.

Group C: Digital stamps with 2D bar code[edit]
C1. Neopost (digital), 2014.
- Rectangular frank, printed in blue, with postal service logo at top. The logo consists of:
- • small "MAURITIUS" above a large "POST" with a paper airplane in the "O"
- • very small "more than just letters" above "POSTAGE PAID"
- Below the logo are the value figures, date, and meter number.
- M# with "N" prefix.
- At left of the frank is the mailer's identification at top above a square 2D bar code left of various tracking codes.
Group PO: Stamps generated by machines in post offices[edit]
PO1. Escher "WebRiposte" (digital), 2004.
- Printed on plain self-adhesive label with rounded corners.
- At top left is the postal service logo, "POST" beneath a very small "MAURITIUS".
- At left below the logo are the destination, weight, date and time, an identification code, and service designation.
- Value figures are at right.
