  • The first meter was installed in 1953.
  • All franks are inscribed “KUWAIT”.
  • The stamps are grouped according to appearance of the frank:
A - Upright or square
B – Horizontal
  • Three sets of currency have been used:
Indian Currency:       16 Annas = 1 Rupee
Decimal Currency:    100 Naye Paise = 1 Rupee (from 01 June 1957)
Kuwaiti Dinar:           1000 Fils = 1 Dinar (from 01 April 1961)

Upright rectangle with simulated perforation outer border and straight line inner border.
“KUWAIT” at top, “POSTAGE PAID” in ribbon, value figure at bottom centre with denomination at sides.
