Antimicrobial therapies account for almost a tenth of the ABIM ID Certification exam.[1] In addition to knowing the appropriate drug for the appropriate bug, physicians should expect questions on drug susceptibility testing/resistance drug pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion), appropriate dosing, drug-drug interactions, and adverse effects/toxicities.
