This is a glossary of botanical and horticultural terms used in Horticulture.

Bulb

A bulb is an underground plant organ used for storing food by certain monocots. While often called a root, bulbs are actually made up of modified leaves.

Rhizome

Under ground modified stem (eg) Ginger and Turmeric

Stolon

A Stolon is a modified stem which grows either beneath the soil or along the soil surface usually to root at the nodes.
