HKDSE Geography/M2a/Fluvial Landforms
Note that in this section, you should only give examples along the Chang Jiang and in Hong Kong. Nobody is interested in the Huang He, the Nile or the Amazon.
Fluvial landforms are classified into erosional and depositional landforms. Most erosional landforms are concentrated on the upper course; most depositional landforms are concentrated on the lower course.
Do not be misled into thinking that deposition is the most important process in the lower course. It only occurs in specific parts of the lower course, such as inner banks, estuaries, lakes, etc., or under specific situations, such as dry season.
