The Brandywine Bridge or "Bridge of Stonebows" is a bridge going across the Baranduin or Brandywine river. It was originally built some time before TA 1601 by the Numenoreans of Arnor. King Argeleb II allowed the Hobbits to settle in the Shire if they kept the bridge in good repair and sped his messengers on their way. The only other ways to cross the river are the Bucklebury Ferry, the Sarn Ford, or swimming across.
