The Seasons, or the Horae, were both the personifications of the seasons, but were also the guardians of the cloudy entrance to Mount Olympus, as well as remembering which gods/goddesses were on Mount Olympus and which were abroad.

There were only three Seasons because classically, only spring, summer and winter were recognized.
