Flowcharts are an alternative to pseudocode. They are used to describe an algorithm in the form of a diagram. Different symbols are used to represent the different structures described above.

Symbol Name Use
Flowchart start stop.png Terminator Used to indicate the START or END of a flowchart.
Flowchart process.png Process Used to indicate any calculations or variable assignments.
Flowchart selection.png Decision Used for conditional checks in selection and iteration.
Flowchart io.png Input & Output Used to input or output.
