Flame fractals are a relative of IFS Fractals, that extend the concept to include more complicated transformations.

Flames were first invented by Scott Draves, he has also authored the SETI-at-home-style flame fractal screensaver called 'Electric Sheep'.
Apophysis[edit | edit source]
A now open-source project to allow editing and rendering of flame fractals, with some interesting developments into 3d flame fractals with extended geometry such as surfaces.
