Poverty, bullying and media violence, and peer pressure all effect the students and the schools around us on a daily basis. I'm not sure but maybe it should read: Poverty, bullying, media violence, and peer pressure....

Poverty is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. In today's schools poverished children are often lacking the basic nessesities to allow them to learn in an effective way. According to the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics (2007), poverty affects the overall well-being of children, from health to behavior, to social environment and education. Poverished children are at times lacking in their educational abilities. The following article is based out of Porstsmouth, Virginia and identifies a school that could possibly be closing because of low test scores. This is an excellent paragraph and the link & story fit very well. However, the end of the article might need a little more to it. It seems as I was reading about poverty and suddenly switched to media (one sentence). Maybe you could tie them together or start talking about media a little before introducing the link.:)

Nansel et al. (2001) reported on the results of a nationally representative survey of 15,686 United States youth in grades 6-10. Findings indicate the 29.9% of the sample reported moderate to frequent involvement in bullying. The following news article shows proves that anyone can be a victim of bullying, and can overcome the effects of being bullied. Maybe the first sentence should read...Nansel et al. (If this is applicable) On the second sentence you have both shows and proves. Either use one or the other or link them with and.

They can be pressured into negative situations such as trying drugs an/or alcohol, having sex, stealing, cheating, lying among many other negative situations.

    I rated this article 5 for credibility because... all sources were properly cited in APA format & each varied in perspectives. They were also in correct alphabetical order.

You can make compliments and suggestions that relate to specific areas of the paper or to the paper in general. I suggest a mixture of both. Focus on what's most important. Of course, you can also include more than two suggestions and more than two compliments. The goal is to help the author improve his/her article. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ARTICLE.
