Very few foods (such as oily fish) naturally contain large amounts of vitamin D. In the United States and other countries, milk and vegetable milk substitutes are rich in vitamin D, as are many breakfast cereals. Mushrooms produce useful amounts of vitamin D when exposed to ultraviolet light.
