Ingredients
[edit | edit source]- 4 ea. (400 g) medium onions, chopped as fine as possible
- 1 small chilli
- 2 large cloves of garlic, chopped finely or crushed
- Ginger (about the same as the garlic in size), finely chopped
- 250 g split red lentils
- 3 tins, chopped tomatoes
- 1 stock cube
- Water as necessary
- 12 whole cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 12 grinds of the black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seed
- Fresh chilli to taste
Procedure
[edit | edit source]- Cook the ingredients in the order listed, giving the onions some time before adding everything else.
- Put the lid on and cook until the lentils are cooked to your preference.
