Quaker oat soup is an easy-to-prepare Nigerian dish similar to cocoyam soup. It is prepared from ground oats.
Ingredients

- Quaker-brand rolled oats, ground to a powder
- Onions, chopped
- Carrots, chopped
- Beef, chunked
- Bay leaves
- Ground pepper
Procedure
[edit | edit source]- Boil water using a pot.
- Gradually stir in the powdered oats until smooth.
- Add onions, carrots, beef, bay leaves and pepper. Cook until the meat and vegetables are tender.
Notes, tips, and variations
[edit | edit source]- During the preparation of the soup, stirring is done after the fire has been turned off under the pot.
