A loaf pan is a deep rectangular pan used to bake quick breads (banana bread, zucchini bread, et al), yeast breads (white, wheat, rye, et al), and meatloaf. Loaf pans are commonly available in aluminum or stainless steel, with enameled cast-iron and non-stick silicon also available at higher price-points. Loaf pans are frequently sold based on the size of bread-loaf they would bake; 1lb, 1.5lb and 2lb loaf pants are the most common in the home kitchen, but larger models exist for use in restaurants and industrial kitchens.
