Upside-down bundt cake pan.

A bundt cake pan gives a tall round cake with a hole in the middle. Without the hole, the outside of the cake would burn before the inside of the cake cooks.

While bundt pans were originally Bavarian (German), Nordic Ware (US) made them popular in the 1950s. There are 35 (or more) patterns of bundt pans in existence.
