Bilberries, also called European blueberries, are the small fruit of Vaccinium myrtillus and its close relatives. They are similar to, but distinct from, American blueberries, and their name in many languages can be translated as "blue berry". They are often used in preserves, liqueurs, tarts, crêpes, and other preparations.
